Community Update

As you are probably aware we have experienced vandalism recently at the pools that has caused thousands of dollars of repairs. The Spoon Drift pool will be closed for a few days due to repairs needed. We are asking the community for assistance. If the vandalism continues the association will possibly need a special assessment this year to cover expenses. If you see something occur please call the police immediately.

Actions that have been taken to help reduce vandalism at the MCM community areas:

*New gate system installed as other system was not working and outdated for security purposes

*Neighborhood Watch has been formed with a shared email for streamlined communication between homeowners for unwanted activity in our area

*Volunteers have been requested to help monitor the pools

*Added a Forums section to the MCM website for easy communication between all homeowners

*Updating the internet at the pools to fiber for more reliable internet service for cameras

*Looking into adding spikes on the pool fencing, security doors for the bathrooms, additional cameras in the common areas, security patrols and police monitoring, but these are all added costs to the HOA that were not budgeted for this year and do not currently have the funds for due to the increased costs in vandalism repairs needed.

This communication is to make you aware of the situation as there has been increased vandalism already this summer and we are just getting started. We need your help as a homeowner to keep the vandalism away from our community. Please volunteer for the Neighborhood Watch or as a Pool Monitor if you are able as we need as many eyes as we can get to help keep this community safe. If you see any activity that should not be happening in any part of the MCM community, please call the police and have them come check it out. The more police reports we have for the unwanted activity, the more police presence we will have to reduce the activity. If the vandalism continues as it has been, then the HOA will not have enough funds for the repairs needed and a special assessment will have to be implemented.
